Nice short trip to Diveagar
Route
Wakad - hinjewadi - Man- Ghotawade- Pirangut- Mulshi - Tamhini ghat - Posco factory - nizam pur - mangaon - left turn on mumbai Goa highway - about 100 meters ahead take first right turn - once u start seeing Mahalasa sign boards enter the village and don't follow diveagar signs - left turn at Mahalasa ST stand - Borli - dive agar. Going through Mhalasa is a short cut and it saves 20km driving. The sign boards actually take you via Srivardhan and its about 30 kms extra as told by locals and I did not confirm it as I never went to srivardhan. I am told that the Dive agar and Srivardhan sea drive is good but missed it twice.
It took me 6 hrs to reach. This includes 1 stop for mega lunch of a large family. So overall a very long and tiring journey. May be next time I will go to Panvel, take Goa highway and reach Mangaon. It may take same time but the driving will be safe and easy. The tamhini Ghat turns are tiring !!
I suggest to stop at paradise cafe just after Mulshi dam for break fast or lunch or dinner. Food quality is good and also has Great Lake view. They have a nice small store where I always buy beach clothing , football shoes etc. You always miss your shorts and T shirts for beach and this is the place to pick yours. He has nice imported variety ( atleast he says so !)

Stay at dive agar
Darya resort. Just as you enter dive agar. Decent rooms. They charge 1500/- for non AC and 2000/- for AC. My family wanted a beach side place so we did not choose it. I personally liked it.
Pin A Kin. We had stayed there last time so we wanted a change and hence did not go there. Also last time had some unpleasant memories ( cockroach etc).
Coastal luxury hotel.
This is bang opp pin a kin. I loved this place. It's a spacious bungalow with 4 rooms and also 2 suites at the back side. Almost like. 4 or 5 star property. They charge 6k for rooms and 7k for suites. Since we need 5 rooms. We thought its expensive for this time. But I am going to stay at this place next time I am here
MTDC exotica. Nice ambience. But the huts or villas are not that up to mark. Very smelly and dirty. They charge 6k. This is nearest to beach
Patil resorts. This is where I stayed. 2 min walking from beach and that was my most imp criteria. Clean and simple rooms. There was no AC. We did a compromise here as clean and simple rooms was more imp and was near to beach. The bell boy pravin is great !!!
Nazir resorts
Not suitable for family. But good for low budget groups. They give rooms very cheap
There are a lot of other options available. Even many houses rent out their rooms to tourists. I did not check many options as Patil Resorts was well suited ( No, not because I am a patil too :)

Food
We ate a swayam patil kha naval. Very nice chicken curry. We liked it and went there twice
Second day we ate at darya resort but the food was okay. Nothing great. Luckily we got ukadiche Modak that day
One of the days we had a lot of time so we wanted to do some local experiment. Drive to borli fish market which is 5 min from dive agar. Brought some surmai fish , bangda fish , crabs, kolambi and of course 1 liter saffola oil. Got hold of one Mr Dilip davate who readily cooked all the fry fish n curries at a charge. Patil resorts has a small nice hut in the garden. Had a great time together with family and literally home cooked food
Had break fast at jai ganesh restaurant near patil resort. Nothing great. 100/- for unlimited breadbutter, poha and misalpav. Good deal though !
We were not in mood for veg food so we did not go to the famous Suhas Bapat place. We did call them for Modak but they refused. Even swayam patil refused because it was a Sunday and peak business day. We left disappointed as we did not get modak second time
MOST IMP. This place appears to me 20 yrs back pune in attitude. They won't serve food immediately.
So better call them in advance so you dont have to run around for food or remain hungry. there is so much tourist traffic but the place has not yet given up on its puneri attitude.

Beach
Motor ski ride. About 10 trips. 200/- each
Banana ride. 100/-
Sofa ride. 400/- for. 3 people
Dolfin ride. 150/- per person. We were 10 in all in the air filled fiber motor boat. He took us really deep in the sea. We saw about 10 dolphins. This reminded me of my recent trip to tampa Florida. Had paid $100 dollars for seeing 1 tail of a dolphin and here I saw a dozen. The key is go to the beach early day 8 or 9 am and do a motor ski ride. You could see dolfin very near as experienced by my wife during her motor boat ride.. We didn't know this as by time we started our boat ride it was noon and hence we had to go deep in sea. Call Shahrukh bhai well in advance to plan.
It was hot even in Nov and with kids around, they did not let me get out of water. Totally tanned skin as a result. I strongly suggest carry you swimming goggles, a large big hat to save you from the salty water and hot sun. Other camping equipments like chair, umbrella etc is also advisable. Dont forget to carry good quality sandles instead of getting bare footed in the water.
